Adatepe village, which is surrounded by olive tres and pine forests, is located on the far west slopes of mythological Mt.Ida. Besides the diversity of its rich flora and fauna, Ida is also well known for its high level of oxygene. Adatepe village is under protection as a natural and a historical heritage site.

Turks and Greeks lived together here until the end of WWI . However, the history of the village traces back to hundreds of years ago and the altar of Zeus located near the village is a great evidence for the historical background of the human settlement in the village.,

Today, the Ottoman mosque of the village and the tomb stones of its cemetery are counted to be the witnesses of the history. Unfortunately, the Church and the Greek cemetery existed until 1940s, but lost in time.

Some elderly locals stil remember the days when the village was populated by 400 households and 8 pubs, 2 butchers, 6 groceries, 1 draper, 1 blacksmith, 3 barbers, 1 lighter, 2 tailors, 3 olive oil factories, 1 bakery, 1 reading-hall, 1 guest-hall, 1 committee hall and a cinema functioning.

Today, there are only 28 housholds in Adatepe. Olive farming and stock-breeding are the primary occupations in the village.

When we came to the village for the first time in 1993, we instantly decided to live here. Adatepe’s unique geography, the unspoiled historical structure and the friendly people who have different stories from each other have the greatest influence over our decision.

Unlike the way of living we get used to in big cities, here we realized our responsibilities for the nature and fellow villagers. In the light of these responsibilities, we looked for ways to make contributions to our neighbourhood.

Adatepe Tasmektep Seminars (http://www.tasmektep.com) which are held in the abondoned primary school of the village and the conversion of an old soap factory to Adatepe Olive Oil Museum (http://www.adatepe.com ) are the reflections of our social responsibility.

We have established Adatepe Pensions with the understanding of our social responsibility.

Our guest rooms are designed to be not showy but functional and natural but hygenic with the belief of a possible sustainable tourism. We aim to feel the garden and the kitchen of adatepe Pensions like our own homes. We care to have the most natural and fresh ingredients and to make delicious and charming food.
